Wiber Rent A Car

Summer is a season incredibly short for adults, but for kids it’s a whole different story: they are tiny volcanoes about to burst, and they WILL burst if they get bored. We want to lay on the beach and rest, they want to build sandcastles, play beach tennis, swim, run… But they do it all in five minutes and then… They get bored again!

Don't panic! Here at Wiber we are fully trained in helping you make your holidays more relaxing so, if you’re travelling to Málaga, we’ve got you covered: we created this summer activity guide to help you out on this relaxing mission. We will be waiting for you at the airport to get you to our office, where you can pick up your car with its corresponding child seats and start balancing your moments of beach and relax with interesting activities for your little whirlwinds.

Let’s get started!

Visiting Costa del Sol with children

The best beaches

Let’s start our recommendation list with our favourite beaches: there are plenty of beautiful beaches across the Costa del Sol, so many that they take about 35% of the whole Andalusian tourism. Many of these beaches have set up special spaces for kids so they can have some extra fun.

A big favourite in Málaga, very popular and a must visit for many, is “Playa de la Malagueta”. Very comfortable to visit with children since it’s near Málaga city centre, and you will be able to move around wherever you want. However, if you’re looking for something a little bit less crowded, we recommend you visit “Playa Torre del Mar” in Vélez-Málaga, where you have to visit its “chiringuitos”and try some of their cuisine.

And our special recommendation is the spectacular “Playa de Calahonda” in Nerja. Clear and calm water, it’s secluded between cliffs, so the view is very special.

Nerja caves

Once you’ve already enjoyed the beach with your little ones, especially if you have visited “Playa de Calahonda”, we recommend you visit the Nerja Caves, one ofthe greatest wonders that Andalucía holds. The guided tour lasts for about an hour, and you will be able to appreciate cave paintings that are over 42.000 years old. You just cannot miss it! We recommend you get your tickets on their website to avoid queueing.

PRINCIPIA Science Center

This is an ideal museum to visit with kids: it offers a great range of interactive activities that will introduce them to the wonders of science, allowing them to touch and do things on their own: they will learn by doing things with their own hands. It’s located in Málaga city. Take into account that the opening hours are from Monday to Friday as well as Saturday mornings. We would recommend you book your visit in advance on their website.

MIMMA (Málaga’s Interactive Music Museum)

A museum fully dedicated to experiment with instruments and music, guided even by a virtual teacher. It has a sound lab for your kids to try and experiment with different sounds and learn, again, from their own experience. We promise they will love it! They offer three different rooms with different options, that you can check on their website to plan ahead.

Aqualand Torremolinos

Althoughit’s not located in Málaga city, no kid can miss a water park on their holidays! This park has three areas specifically designed for children with special security measures and constant lifeguards watching just in case. And if you are into thrills, there are some vertiginous slides that you will love too!

These are some activities that we suggest from Wiber Rent a Car for you to have a great time with your little ones. If your kids like travelling by car, we can also suggest a beautiful route through the five most charming towns in Málaga, that includes Júzcar, the Smurf Village. Also, if you want to be on top of every day’s kid’s activities in Málaga, we suggest you check “La Diversiva”, a Spanish website with a lot of quality content that gets updated daily.

As always, we will be happy to offer our service and help at our Málaga office, but if you are not travelling to Málaga, you can also count on us and our recommendations in Alicante and Mallorca

We will be waiting for you!
