At Wiber Rent a Car, we are committed to offering a transparent, clear and frictionless service. Here is everything you need to know before collecting your vehicle and beginning your trip.
General requirements for hiring a car in Spain
Although each company may have its own conditions, some common requirements for hiring a car in Spain include:

Minimum age: Generally, you must be at least 21 years old.

Valid driving licence: You must hold a valid driving licence with at least 12 months’ validity. For non-EU licences, an international driving permit may be required.

Credit or debit card: A card in the name of the main driver is required for payment or deposit depending on the chosen rate.

ID card or passport: Mandatory for identity verification.
Requirements for hiring a car with Wiber

Driver’s age

The minimum age to hire with Wiber is 21 years, with at least 12 months of valid driving experience.

For special groups E5 and C7, the minimum age is 25 years.

Drivers aged 21 to 24 (inclusive) must pay a surcharge of €9.00 per day, up to a maximum of €90.00 per hire.
What documents do you need to collect your hire car?
To hand over the vehicle without complications, you’ll need to present the following mandatory documents:

Reservation number (you’ll receive this in your email after booking).

Original physical ID card or passport. Copies, photos or digital versions are not accepted. Wiber reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle if this document is not presented in physical format.

Valid driving licence of the main driver.

If you provide your flight number, we can wait for you and guarantee your booking in case of delay.
If your licence is Spanish, it is accepted in original format or in digital format only via the official miDGT app installed on your phone. Copies, photos or provisional certificates are not accepted.

If your licence is from the European Union, you do not need an international driving permit.

If your licence was issued in a country with a DGT agreement, you also do not need an international permit.

For licences issued outside the EU or without a DGT agreement: you must present a valid international driving permit.

If your licence is in a non-Roman alphabet (e.g. Cyrillic, Arabic, Japanese...), an international permit is also required.
In addition, if your licence was issued outside the EU, you must present:

A plane ticket dated within the last 6 months (for EU residents), or
-
A passport with an EU entry stamp dated within the last 6 months (for non-EU residents).
We do not accept:

Certified or digital copies of documents.

Provisional driving certificates (e.g. DVLA certificates from the UK or other documents not recognised by the DGT).

Expired or provisional licences.
What about flight number or boarding pass?
If you are collecting your vehicle at an airport, we will also ask for your flight number or boarding pass before finalising the contract. If you do not provide these, Wiber reserves the right not to provide the vehicle.
All documents must be valid and will be checked again in case of contract extensions at our offices. Our aim is to ensure a transparent, efficient and safe process for all customers.
Payment methods
At Wiber we offer flexibility: you can pay in advance when booking online or at the time of collection, whichever you prefer. Accepted payment methods:

Physical Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards.

We do not accept American Express, EC-Karte, Girocard or virtual/digital cards (e.g. Apple Pay, Google Pay).

We do not accept cash payments.
Important:

The cardholder must be present at the time of payment.

Payment must be made with a single card in the name of the main driver.
If the payer is not the main driver, it is mandatory to purchase Top Cover, our additional protection.
Remember: we always require physical cards, so make sure you have it with you when collecting your car to ensure a smooth and secure process.
Is a deposit required?
This depends on the rate you choose on our website. We offer three options:

All Inclusive: Enjoy all the benefits and peace of mind of our all-inclusive car hire. No excess or deposit. This is our most recommended rate. You can also skip queues and collect your car via our SmartBox system.

SmartCar: All the All Inclusive cover, no deposit or excess car hire, plus you collect the car yourself with your phone at the airport car park.

Full Full: A deposit will be blocked as a guarantee. The amount depends on the type of vehicle.
Will I be charged for fuel?
You will receive the car with a full tank and must return it full.
However, with the Full Full rate, the fuel cost will be blocked as a deposit and refunded in full if the car is returned with a full tank.
